Sports massage at Duffield Chiropractic Clinic

Sports massage is a very safe and effective way to treat muscular tension, which is so prevalent whether it be from postural strains accumulated through the working day, leftover tension from old injuries, or from pushing yourself whilst exercising.

Clinic director Andrew Harlow says ‘Sports massage is an excellent service – it will be so useful for patients once they have had their primary and often more complicated issues resolved with Chiropractic care, and it can be very beneficial when integrated into a plan of prescribed exercises and postural advice. Whilst the total effects of combining Sports massage with Chiropractic care and exercise will be greatest, it is still such an effective treatment that it will be highly beneficial for people who are using Sports massage on it’s own.

We are so pleased to be offering it now after 9 months of waiting for the right person to join our team, and we have taken on board Helen to help offer the highest quality of care for our patients.’

So, why have a sports massage you might ask?

Well, there are many ways that sports massage can help you. It is very common for me to see people with work related upper back and shoulder tension, runners and other athletes who come for a full leg maintenance massage, and I frequently work with people who have lower back and hip tension.

Personally, a regular sports massage helps me to keep the aches and pains of daily life at bay and enables me to happily participate in the physical activities of running, climbing and paddle-sport that I enjoy. Keeping those niggles away is also beneficial when running round after a small family!

For some people, a sports massage might be used as a one-off or within a series of treatments to deal with specific tensions, and for others it is to help maintain optimum performance in their chosen activity.

Whatever your reason, my aim is to help you function at your best, whether that is for physical activity or achieving daily tasks and to relieve unwanted muscle tension that is causing discomfort.

Maybe you can identify with one or more of these reasons. If you think you might be interested, check out the booking page or give us a call.

If you would like to know a bit more about me, take a look at my bio here, otherwise I look forward to seeing you in the clinic when needed.
